I have W2TUIO and mac 5.07 installed on win 7 64bit on a dell xt2.  Do I need to have quicktime installed? Because when I do I can't open MMF…it crashes max.  If I uninstall quicktime I can open the patch, but it doesn't seem to be connecting to W2TUIO.

Any thoughts?

in max 5, I *think* that quicktime is needed only to display some formats of picture in pictslider or pasted in patcher. so it should work fine without it.

- is there a quicktime installer for win 7 ?

- does your max works fine without quicktime installed ?

- when you open the MMF patch, do you have some error messages in the max window ?

- to check if you receive TUIO messages, go in "p tuio" in MMF, click on the toggle to monitor incoming OSC messages in the max window. (double click the print object).

about the crash with quicktime installed : there is a MMF logo pasted in the MMF template patch ; if quicktime is used to display it, and if it is not working correctly in win 7, that may be the problem…

Thanks for the reply.  Quicktime seems to work stand alone just not with max, though I need to try some other patches using it.  I verified that max is seeing TUIO–> OSC.

Here's the errors from MMF, would any these cause it to not work?  I'm able to successfully use multitouch apps using w2tuio/flashocs

Quicktime not installed.

Jitter requires Quicktime to be installed to run.

all theses error messages should not prevent MMF from working.

for more infos on quicktime + Jitter + win7 64, please ask to cycling'74 support, or forum.

if you receive OSC message in the MMF patch, I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work..

quicktime is used only for a demo using Jitter in the bpatcher tab + in some slider (pictslider) probably use image as background, but none of these objects are used in the 'core' of MMF.

I would advice you to first see with cycling'74 if max+jitter is supposed to work on this os.. and there is a way to fix this quicktime issue.

Thanks again for the reply.  The issue was not quicktime at all.  The issue was with the W2TUIO app calibration changing *randomly*.  I was able to resolve, and many thanks for sharing this.
