I don't think that Elo makes multitouch screens...

The cheapest solution is probably to make it yourself (all you want to know about building multitouch screen is in the nuigroup forum : http://nuigroup.com/ )

Some MMF users have reported that HP XT2 tablet pc works fine. (Dell TX2 should be ok as well).

I use a Stantum SMK 15.4, but it doesn't seems to be available any longer. (?) (it works great, ..but is not cheap at all !)

Hello,

Thanks for all your answers. Im a little bit late with writing, to much work. Sorry...

I got a connection between ableton live and max 5 over live api every thing works very fine. When i have more time I can write a detail way to do this (if somebody want:))...

Until now i dont understand all java and pyton scrips but it works.

If somebody know where I can find a detail-tutoriol will be nice.

My main problem is to find a multitouchscreen witch works with the tuio protocol.

Does andybody know if I can use a ELO Touchscreen???

Im so sorry for my noob questions:)

Have a nice day...

I have been told a great way to do this with the current versions of Max 5 and Ableton is to use midi send scripts. A friend of mine who goes this route says he has track names, and control all piping into max 5 easily.

I just use ctlout, and midiout objects to control ablteton via midi yoke. I just had to make sure to turn on the REMOTE setting in the ableton midi i/o settings as well as turn on midi yoke to ableton midi 1.

Can I get the clip names, colours, status… over Midi SysEx??? I dont think so…

Yes, it is possible.

---> http://www.assembla.com/wiki/s.....i_Protocol

Can you say some words over the “elegant way” to get a connection.

in this article : http://www.cycling74.com/story.....114420/967 David Zicarelli says : "Max for Live will introduce a Max-based API for controlling and extending Live itself through the live.object, live.path, and live.observer objects."

and on ableton site : http://www.ableton.com/extend , you ca read :

Max for Live also provides objects that allow you to access and modify the inner workings of Live. Modify the tracks, clips, notes, names and values, selection states—and pretty much anything else you can see or hear in Live. This API also allows you to access controller hardware via Live, creating new mappings that can completely repurpose a hardware device. Even if you don't know what an API is, you can still use devices that other people have built and apply them to your Live setup.

Okey I read every day in the max5 manual and i think i understand "some of the basics", a little bit like reaktor.

Its really nice and I think in combination with your mmf is a perfect construction kit to bulid your own touchpad desktops for Midi-, DMX-Data, Ableton or anything else. I love this idea:)

But I dont unterstand the connection between max5 and ableton. Can I get the clip names, colours, status... over Midi SysEx??? I dont think so...

Do I need a pyton patch???

Can you say some words over the "elegant way" to get a connection.

Thank u

to get clip names from Live, yes, LiveAPI is the easiest way.

But if you can wait until Max for Live is released... there will probably be some much more elegant way to do this...
